8° (206 x 126mm). Half-title, E3, E4 and M4 cancels, final errata/advertisement leaf. (Very light spotting to gathering P.) Contemporary mottled calf, gilt spine compartments with red morocco lettering-piece and FFF stamp at foot (edges a little rubbed, joints cracking and spine lightly creased, head and tail caps a little worn). Provenance: Francis Ferrand Foljambe (binding). FIRST EDITION in unsophisticated condition, with pp.121, 237 and 299 in their second states. Rothschild 456.
