A FAMILLE VERTE OVAL TUREEN AND COVER
KANGXI (1662-1722)
With cockerel finial on the shallow domed cover, and iron-red and gilt scrolled ogival handles to the sides, the tureen exterior and the cover enamelled and gilt with four sprays of chrysanthemum alternating with hibiscus, within a seeded green band embellished wiith phoenix and peony, the interior brightly enamelled at the centre with a large insect perched on a buddleia spray beside similar chrysanthemum and hibiscus sprays, all below iron-red tassels and a green enamel trellis band below the rim
