THE PORCELAIN KANGXI, THE ORMOLU CIRCA 1715-20
Of rectangular spreading form, the body cast with masks flanked by dancing term figures, the angles with winged putti, all against a pounced ground with strapwork and cartouches, fitted with a liner with compartments for writing utensils, and porcelain-lidded compartments for ink and sand with pierced removeable fitments, flanking a central sponge compartment, on scrolled feet, inscribed in paint 'DW/1562' to the underside
