Henri had learned a great deal about making pictures during her years in Paris in the mid-20s. While her own paintings of architectural subjects are flat, graphic abstractions that show, in their structure and bold stylisations, the influence of her teacher Fernand Léger, her dynamic photographs exploiting mirror reflections are conceptually closer to the very essence of Cubism. They share with the first masters of Cubism their defiance of the limitations of monocular perspective, and they develop techniques to incorporate multiple points of view within the picture plane.
