with brass cannon on quadrant supports, engraved with calendrical scale for burning lens, four-point compass, two bubble levels, silvered plate with two hour scales for 48° and 52°, bird pointer gnomon for 40-60°, signed A. Lefrançois Palais-Royal, on tapering brass column with three adjustable feet, wooden stand, in fitted case
