A Group of nine ojime, 19th Century
the first of basket weave with a metal himotoshi in the form of a paper lantern; the other eight of metals such as iron, copper, silver, bronze and brass: a lotus bud with the pods and himotoshi of silver; an open seed with a crawling spider; a vase with a spray of hibiscus in relief; a drum-shaped compass; a taiko drum; a chestnut with a resting ladybird; one of oval form with sacred pearls; and the last round and in relief with a phoenix perched on a branch of cherry blossom -- 13/16in. (2cm.) long max. (9)
