A Pale celadon and russet jade model of cranes, Qianlong (1736-1795)
the pair of birds finely carved body to body facing in opposite directions, their heads turned over their shoulders towards each other, with naturalistically incised feather detailing and variously clasping in their long beaks large leafy branches of fruiting finger citron and peach blossoms, both seated upon a long weathered plantain leaf -- 4 3/8in. (11.2cm.) wide.
