A BRESCIAN FLINTLOCK HOLSTER PISTOL BY GERONIMO ZUCOLO
EARLY 18TH CENTURY
With two-stage barrel with raised moulding at both ends, cut with a raised chevron pattern over the forward section, narrow fluting over the rear and stamped 'Lazarino Cominazo' between single trefoil stamps (di Carpegna p.251, M25), signed lightly chiselled lock with slighty bevelled edges, carved moulded figured walnut full stock (minor cracks, shrinkage around the pommel), and full brass mounts cast in low relief, including spurred pommel, pierced grotesque side-plate, and pierced decorative escutcheon (ramrod replaced).
