rectangular box with curved ends, reserves on cover, sides and base enamelled in opaque celadon green framed by gold and colour paillon-set borders, framed by reeded gold and narrow black enamel stripes, the cover furthermore painted with a scene en grisaille of a young soldier returning home to his countryside hut, greeted by his family, bright-cut gold rims, white enamelled side-pilasters engraved with taille d'épargne scrolling foliage
