Small 12°, 3 woodcuts, one full-page (lacks frontispiece, title torn and repaired with loss to one letter and slight affect on two others, restoration to final leaf affecting a few letters), full calf gilt by W. Pratt, gilt edges (spine rubbed at head). Provenance: Thomas Westwood (bookplate) -- C.F.G.R. Schwerdt (bookplate).
FIRST EDITION. "A rare and quaint little book", states Schwerdt. "It contains a large number of useful hints on bird-catching". ESTC records 4 copies, of which only the BL copy is in the UK. Schwerdt also owned a perfect copy, sold by Christie's in the Duke of Gloucester Sale, 26 January 2006, lot 547. Schwerdt II, p. 141; Wing S4108C.
