A brass figure of Padmapani
Kashmir, 9th century
Standing with a slight sway atop a lotus base with beaded rim, his right hand raised in abhaya mudra and holding the lotus in his left, wearing a dhoti secured at the waist with a belt and sash flaring at his side, further adorned with bracelets and a beaded necklace, his face with almond-shaped eyes and strands of curled hair spilling down over his shoulders, backed by a flaming mandorla and with a dedicatory inscription on the stepped plinth
