The asymmetrical cartouche-shaped clockcase surmounted by a figure of Chronos and set with an enamel dial with pierced hands, Roman numerals, five-minute markers and inscribed Martinot/A Paris, the movement with backplate signed THO^S GAMMAGE & SON 60 Queen Victoria St., above the shaped case set with a hinged quarter-veneered door with lockplate stamped PAUL SORMANI/10 r.Charlot, Paris, above a glazed cartouche-form window revealing the Apollo-mask pendulum, on spreading base with paw-cast feet and conforming wooden plinth
