In 1930 the OM-45 Deluxe sold for $180 and was the most expensive flat-top guitar made by C.F. Martin & Company. Only fourteen of these guitars were constructed and all in that same year. One of these highly ornamental guitars was purchased by the founding member of the cowboy band Sons of the Pioneers, Leonard Franklin Slye (Roy Rogers).
The OM-45 Roy Rogers was introduced in 2006 and made in both East Indian rosewood and Brazilian rosewood (OM-45B). Edition numbers for the OM-45 were 84. The OM-45B of Brazilian rosewood was limited to l4 guitars as were originally produced in 1930.
