Lot Essay

A Shaykh Muhammad al-Mulaqqab bi (titled) Nizam al-Din is reported as having been a royal scribe at the court of Shah Tahmasp. He was known for his speed of writing and was alive in AH 953/1546-47 AD. If, however, this were the same scribe, he must have had a very long working life (Mehdi Bayani, Ahval va Asar-e Khosh-Nevisan, Vol. III, Tehran, 1348 sh, p. 621).
