TWO IMORTANT OTTOMAN YATAGHANS, TURKEY, 19TH CENTURY
The first with slightly curved steel blade, stamped near hilt, the forte with silver mount and hilt of horn with silver mounts, the stitched leather scabbard with silver upper and lower, the end terminating in a dragon with open mouth - 30 3/4in (78cm); the second with straight steel blade with gilt inscription within star and cartouches to one side and tugra and longer inscription to other with date 1237AH/1821AD, raised floral bosses to forte and to horn hilt, the leather scabbard with gold stitching, brass end, the date 1237AH/1821AD embossed in leather - 27 1/2in (69.7cm) (2) (2)
