TWO CELADON JADE SCABBARD FITTINGS, 3RD/2ND CENTURY BC
one of pale celadon, other slightly darker with russet flecks and scattered areas of white alteration, both with beast-head terminals with large curling pencil incised eye-brows, the flattened upper surface carved in relief with c-scrolls and spirals; an olive green and russet jade scabbard fitting of slightly shorter length, the surface with two rows of deeply carved c-scrolls amongst pencil incised embellishment; a futher celadon and russet jade scabbard fitting with artificial treatment to the surface, carved similarly to the first fittings with beast-head terminal and scrolling decoration to the flattened back; and a pale celadon and russet fitting with similar decoration to that above -- The first 4 1/8in. (10.5cm.) wide. (5)
