CIRCA 1670-90
Painted in blue, green, yellow, ochre and manganese with tulips, carnations, buds and leafy foliage issuing from a blue and yellow two-handled vase, within a yellow line and blue-dash border to the rim (broken in two and restuck, repair to rim, chip to rim, chipping to footrim)
13 in. (33 cm.) diam.

Lot Essay

Two chargers, one dated 1668 and the other 1676, similarly decorated with flowers issuing from globular vases with scroll handles, are illustrated by Louis L. Lipski and Michael Archer, Dated English Delftware (London, 1984), pp. 29 and 31, nos. 53 and 66 respectively.
