Shaped circular and on three scroll panel feet, the rim with a band of quatrefoils heightened with shells at intervals, engraved with foliage scroll and shells, the centre engraved with a coat-of-arms, marked underneath, further stamped 'GARRARDS Panton Street LONDON'
9¾ in. (24.5 cm.) diam.
20 oz. (636 gr.)
The arms are those of Dalrymple, for Sir Hew Dalrymple 6th Bt. of North Berwick (1814-1887). He inherited the title and estates on the death of his father in 1835. He married Frances Elizabeth (d.1894), only daughter of Robert Arkwright, of Sutton Scarsdale, co. Derby. On his death the title passed to his brother.
