SMALL LOTS OF FINE VINTAGE CHAMPAGNE
Taittinger, Comtes de Champagne--Vintage 1966
Slightly corroded foil. Bin-soiled and slightly damaged label. Level very top-shoulder
Vintage note: Not the easiest of growing conditions: some vines were killed outright by seriously damaged frosts in the New Year. There was a succession of hailstorms from May through to August, but June hot for the flowering. August itself was wet and lacking sunshine causing mildew problems. The vintage was saved by fine weather in September and early October, resulting in a satisfactory harvest of firm, elegant wines. **** Michael Broadbent, Vintage Wine
