A rectangular snuff-box, the cover with gentlemen playing cards, the base with a lady in a landscape, on stippled grounds, in stylized leaf borders, marked inside cover and base; a pair of circular boxes, the covers applied with gilt medallions of Count Platov and Count Witgenstein, each with Russian inscription, both apprently unmarked, together with a parcel-gilt niello beaker of three women with agricultural tools, in a city, marked under base
The snuff-box 3¼ in. (8.2 cm) long; round boxes 3¼ in. (8.2 cm) diameter
The Russian inscriptions translate as: 'Count M. I. Platov Hetman of the Don Cossacks forces.' and 'Count P. H. Witgenstein'. (4)
