With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1945 and its subsequent sale on December 1st of the same year.

To the best of our knowledge the present watch has never before been offered in public.

Although the watch was originally entered in Patek Philippe's archives to have left the manufacture with a leather strap, the present bracelet is from the same period and is most certainly original to this watch, added upon request from the original owner at the date of purchase.
Founded in Geneva, Switzerland in 1835, the Gay Freres jewelry firm originally gained fame and recognition for its intricate and beautifully designed handmade gold chains. The company later became renowned for supplying high quality bracelets to wristwatch companies such as Patek Philippe, Cartier and Rolex among others. Throughout the years Gay Freres has continued in this tradition of excellence in craftsmanship and remains as a well-respected business in the jewelry industry in Europe.
