A scrimshaw pan bone engraved with a coastal scene**
Probably British; 19th century
[unsigned], engraved with an elaboarte scene with five ships in a fortified British harbor, and a clipper ship departing under full sail, at the center is a portrait of a sailor, and across the top are portraits of four ships, possibly the ships the sailor served on, including two men-of-war from the age of sail, and two commercial sail/paddle steamers.
