EGYPTE, BASSE EPOQUE, XXVIEME - XXXEME DYNASTIE, 664-343 AVANT J.C.
En bronze, représentée marchant, la jambe gauche avancée, le bras gauche abaissé, le bras droit plié au niveau du coude, les mains serrées en poing et ayant peut être tenues des attributs, conservant des traces de brassards et de bracelets dorés, vêtu d'un pagne plissé également doré, coiffé d'une parure de tête tripartite, striée de cuivre, les yeux anciennement incrustés (une incrustation en partie conservée), la tête surmontée d'un tenon pour l'attache d'attributs supplémentaires

AN EGYPTIAN BRONZE MAHES
LATE PERIOD, DYNASTY XXVI-XXX, 664-343 B.C.
Striding forward with the left leg advanced, the left arm lowered, the rigt arm bent at the elbow, the hands fisted and perhaps once holding attributes, preserving traces of gilt armbands and bracelets, wearing a pleated kilt, also gilt, and a tripartite headcloth with copper inlaid striations, the eyes once inlaid (one partially preserved), the head surmounted by a tenon for attachment of additional attributes

Mahes, literally 'savage lion,' was the son of Bastet, who aided the sun god in the fight against the evil giant serpent Aphoris. For another depiction of this deity, see pl. 23b in Andrews Amulets of Ancient Egypt.
