Lot Essay

Ferrey was a highly regarded architect and draughtsman who was apprenticed to A.C. Pugin and accompanied him on his tours of England and Normandy. He wrote a biography of Pugin and his son entitled Recollections of A.N. Welby Pugin and His Father Augustus Pugin, London, Edward Stanford, 1861.
