18TH/19TH CENTURY
Both well carved in shallow relief, one with three scholars in a boat, a fourth man steering the craft toward a pavilion on the shore, the scene set beneath overhanging cliffs, a pine tree and the crescent moon, the translucent stone of white tone with russet mottling; the other with a scene of two horses in a landscape beneath a willow tree, the stone of pale greenish-white tone with some russet flecks
15/16 and 1 in. (2.3 and 2.5 cm.) high (2)
