AN UNUSUAL CLOUDY GREY OPAQUE JADE FLANGED BRACELET
SHANG DYNASTY, POSSIBLY SANXINGDUI, SICHUAN PROVINCE, 2ND MILLENIUM BC
Carved as a thin flat flange projecting from an inner collar with slightly inward-canted walls, the cloudy grey and buff opaque stone with satiny polish, pierced with two holes; together with a jade curved fish pendant carved from a section of a collared disc, Shang dynasty, the thin flat body carved on both sides with a circular eye and with a slashed groove bifurcating the tail, with striated markings on the dorsal and the pectoral fins that project laterally from the bottom edge, the head pierced with a conical hole, the stone now opaque and of tan color with traces of cinnabar
