Lot Essay

A similar jar of closely related size (24.5 cm. high), is illustrated by J. Pope, Chinese Porcelains from the Ardebil Shrine, Freer Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C. 1956, pl. 130, no. 29.650, where it is dated to the 14th century.
