A QAJAR DAMASCENED AXE AND TWO OTHER ARMS, IRAN, 19TH CENTURY
The axe blade with large central inscription cartouche in nasta'liq , two further inscription cartouches below, further inscriptions to head, the haft with silver scrolling vine inlay, the bottom fitted with a ring - 29 1/2in (75cm) long; and a double-bladed axe with enfraved cartouches of flowers and birds, remains of silver inlaiy - 22in (56cm) lond and a finial acid-etched with inscription all over surface - 16 1/2in (42cm) (3)
