Two similar sundials signed by the same maker sold at Sotheby's (24 October 2007, lot 200) and in these Rooms (24 September 2008, lot 14). They were respectively dated 1878-79 and 1876-77 AD.

PAKISTAN OR INDIA, DATED AH 1303/1885 AD
Of semi-cylindrical shape, mounted on three adjustable feet, fixed at its base, the top adjustable and moving along a circular and graduated arm, a gnomon (?) perpendicular to axis of the cylinder, the surface engraved with a numbered rule, two small fixing pieces for plumb-lines, a compass fixed on the base, signed Mankaran (?) and dated, serial (?) number 188, all the parts fixed together with screws, minor corrosion
