Josef Geyer painted flowers at Vienna from 1803 to 1836. For a similar vase painted by Joseph Nigg, see Samuel Wittwer, Rafinesse & Eleganz, Königliche Porzellane des Frühen 19. Jahrhunderts aus der Twinight Collection, New York (Munich, 2007), cat. no. 82. See also Folnesics & Braun, Geschichte der K. K. Wiener Porzellan-Manufaktur (Vienna, 1907), pl. XXIX for an example in the K.K. Österreichisches Museum, für Kunst und Industrie, attributed to Nigg.
