Sarah Morris is a painter and filmmaker, who is exploring specific forms of communication. Morris's films operate between documentary and non-narrative fiction while focusing on sites of production and leisure. Morris views her films as a parallel activity to her paintings. Her paintings convey multiple perspectives regarding appearance, form and ideology while operating in the gap between the facades of corporate architecture and pure abstraction. A critique of power is combined with a practice that is inspired by cinematic architecture, industrial design and urban theater.
