Bismuth's work constitutes a creative intervention into familiar codes, habits and objects, in order to expose the mechanisms of visibility and creation of meaning. He has recently exhibited at the British Film Institute in London, Team Gallery in New York, Kunsthalle Bern, Istanbul Museum of Modern Art, and Kadist Art Foundation in Paris. Other recent solo exhibition include Neon, Mirror and Gold, Galeria Sonia Rosso, Turin (2009); Following the Right Hand of..., Team Gallery, New York (2009); Pierre Bismuth - Ruled by Extravagant Expectations, Christine König Galerie, Vienna (2008); and Coming Soon, Santa Monica Museum of Art, Santa Monica (2006).
