Two volumes, 2° (450 x 277mm). Part-titles. 127 engraved plates, 7 of which folding. (Occasional light spotting throughout.) Contemporary russia, panelled covers with wide gilt borders, gilt spines, marbled endpapers and edges (spines slightly sunned).

SECOND EDITION of 'the most important book on German Gothic architecture to appear in the first two decades of the nineteenth century' (Robson-Scott pp.268-273), including examples from the sixth to the sixteenth century from all over Europe, and specifically those 'which are little known and not yet illustrated'. Moller's text was avidly read in England and gave great impetus to the Gothic Revival movement. RIBA 2166 (part II only). (2)
