NASH, Joseph (1809-1878). Architecture of the Middle Ages. [London:], T. MacLean, 1838. 2° (547 x 367mm). Tinted lithographic title, lithographic dedication with list of plates on verso, and 1 leaf of lithographic text printed on recto only. 25 tinted lithographic plates. (Variable light spotting.) Original publisher's olive quarter morocco over straight-grained brown cloth, title lettered in gilt on upper cover inside a gilt gothic arch (extremities very lightly rubbed).
FIRST EDITION. A second part was promised, but never published, and Nash seems to have concentrated his efforts on his later and larger series, The Mansions of England in the Olden Time (see lot 234). RIBA 2236.
