A RARE SCOTTISH BASKET-HILTED BROADSWORD SIGNED WITH INITIALS BY THOMAS GEMMELL OF GLASGOW
CIRCA 1709-20
With double-edged blade stamped 'Andrea' and 'Farara' between a pair of orb marks within a frame of short fullers on respective sides, linear-engraved fluted iron hilt, the basket-guard signed with the initials 'TG' over 'G' stamped on the underside, matching pommel, and original fishskin grip bound with silver wire between shaped embossed silver collars
