A RARE ENGLISH COMBINED SABRE AND FOUR-BARRELLED FLINTLOCK PISTOL
LATE 18TH CENTURY
With curved fullered blade double-edged towards the point and stamped by the cutler 'Harvey', under a pistol barrel, fitted with two spirally fluted turn-off barrels on each side, the hilt formed of a box-lock tap-action pistol with sliding cut-off on the right and button trigger on the top, engraved with rococo trophies and scrolls, and inset with a gold vacant oval on the left, fluted wooden grip, and pierced iron knuckle-guard, Birmingham private proof marks, in a modern leather scabbard retaining the original iron locket
