Illustrated account of the texts and plays performed in Antwerp on the 3rd and 24th August 1561 and organized by the different chambers of rhetoricians, the most splendid and famous drama contests of this kind ever held. It is also a fine example of Renaissance book publishing in the Netherlands. The first book is illustrated with a folding plate showing the invitation from Antwerp Chamber, woodcuts with scenes from the theatrical performances, a complicated rebus, a woodcut showing the monumental stage on the great square, and small woodcuts showing emblems. Belg. Typogr. 4400; BMC/STC Dutch p.11.
