Panoramic engraving, with letterpress dedication panel at left, engraved bird's-eye view of Ferrara, engraved view of the arch with letterpress extension at top and eight engravings on joined sheets forming a scroll, 7½ x 181 in. POPE CLEMENT VIII (1536-1605) (Ippolito Aldobrandini) entered Ferrara in 1598 during a series of visits to Italian cities on his journey from Rome. Rascicotti (or Rasciotti) published this enormous panorama of the Pope's entry, which includes a bird's-eye view of Ferrara. The Pope is in the seventh panel of the panorama, following a long procession of local nobility, mace bearers, cardinals and cavalieri commanded by Alessandro di Mantica, Otavio dal Bufalo, Paulo Monaldeschi, Prospero Jacovacci and Franciotto Orsino. Drugulin 1010.
