A red sandstone figure of a deity
India, Rajasthan, 11th century
Well-carved with the deity leaning against a column, his left arm at his hip, adorned in elaborate jewelry and a long garland, his face in serene expression flanked on either side with elongated earlobes with large round earrings and surmounted by a high crown, a female worshipper in an architectural niche to his left with an elephant head in the niche above her
