Lot Essay

The present vases are loosely based around Antique kraters such as the Medici and Borghese vases. The Medici Vase was first recorded as 'pilo di marmo biancho storiato delle histoire d'Ifigenia' in the inventory of the Villa Medici in Rome made in 1598.
