A FINELY CARVED WHITE JADE POMEGRANATE

Of irregular form, carved in high relief around the sides with the leafy gnarled branch on which the ripe fruit is borne, carved on the flattish side with seeds exposed through the burst skin, the rounded side carved with a flowering branch that rises to the openwork top where a cicada rests beside the calyx of the fruit, the stone of even color and with fine soft polish
