AN UNUSUAL LARGE PAINTED ENAMEL PLAQUE IN A CARVED ZITAN FRAME
18TH CENTURY
Finely painted with a female Daoist immortal wearing a leaf girdle over her long robes and holding a basket of flowers and a ruyi scepter, accompanied by a similarly attired female attendant holding an armful of peaches and carrying a gnarled staff while standing beside a sheep bedecked in flowers, all in a river landscape with a cluster of dwellings in the distance, the panel mounted in a wood 'mat' and an outer zitan frame carved with archaistic dragon scroll
32 5/8 in. x 23 in. (83 x 58.5 cm.) with frame
