A SMALL GILT AND PARCEL-SILVERED-BRONZE HU AND COVER
HAN DYNASTY (220 BC-AD 220)
Of faceted pear shape, raised on a slightly flared foot and applied with a pair of mask handles suspending loose rings, with a band of pendent silver blades below the silvered rim, and with an inscription incised on one side, the cover with four scroll finials, with areas of green and ferrous encrustation
5 1/8 in. (13 cm.) high, Japanese wood box
