Stoutly potted with shallow rounded sides supported on a shallow, tapering, wedge-shaped foot, covered overall in a blue-tinged white glaze, the unglazed base burnt to a mottled reddish-orange in the firing

Compare a slightly larger (33.9 cm.) Xuande-marked white-glazed dish of this shape, from the collection of E.T. Chow, sold at Sotheby Parke Bernet, Hong Kong, 19 May 1981, lot 458. Another slightly larger, although unmarked, Xuande period white-glazed dish is illustrated by R. Krahl and J. Ayers, Chinese Ceramics in the Topkapi Saray Museum Istanbul, vol. II, New York, 1986, p. 522, no. 625.
