chiaroscuro woodcut printed from three blocks in black, brown and ochre, circa 1589-90, on laid paper, a very good, richly printed impression, slightly later (with the third gap above the oar), trimmed to or just outside the borderline, laid down onto stiff wove paper, a large repaired tear across the lower section of the print to the right of the dolphin's head, a 10 mm. vertical tear at the lower sheet edge at centre, with the usual horizontal drying crease
