Lot Essay

This Qur'an was given to Badr al-Din al-Hassani (a religious scholar) by Jamal Pasha al-Saffah (the Ottoman governor of Syria). Al-Hassani gave the Qur'an to his son who was Taj al-Din al-Hassani (President of Syria between 1941-1943). It has come thence by decent to the present owner.
