Lot Essay

Emile Louis Picault (1833-1915) spent much of his career creating historrical and mythological bronze figures demontstrating the virtures of partriotism. These pieces are often accompanied by Latin names such as in this case 'Pax Labor' (P. Kjellberg, Les Bronzes du XIXieème siècle, Paris p. 542).
