A porcelain basket from the Service of the Order of St Vladimir
by the Gardner Porcelain Factory, Moscow, period of Catherine II, 1783-1785
Oval, with tapering pierced sides and undulating gilt rim, the exterior decorated with the multi-coloured moulded ribbon of the Order with the cross of the Order, the centre of the interior painted with the star of the Order with a letter symbol and motto, the brown handles simulating twistes branches, with gilt detail on a moulded gilt base, marked under base with blue underglaze 'G'
