by the Gardner Porcelain Factory, Moscow, 1770-1780
A realistically modelled group depicting a bare-foot seated woman in a green jacket, striped skirt, white apron and white scarf, playing a hurdy-gurdy, with a gentelman standing beside her, leaning against a tree-trunk, wearing an open pink jacket with a white shirt underneath, striped trousers and a white hat, playing bag pipes carried under his left arm, his pipe at his foot, on a rectangular naturalistic base with gilt rim, apparently unmarked, with two paper labels under base, one with number '394' and another from the Paris Customs
