by the Royal Berlin Porcelain Factory, 1780s
Cylindrical, the cobalt-blue body decorated with a vermiculating gilt pattern, one side painted en grisaille with a bust portrait of Empress Catherine II, facing right, inscribed 'CATHARINA.II.IMPERAT.RUSS.', within a reserve with gilt ciselé border, the circular saucer with similarly decorated border and the centre painted en grisaille with a military trophy, marked under base with blue underglaze sceptres
